Initiated in 1990, the 'Make a Difference Day' is dedicated to helping others by doing volunteer work in the community. It is celebrated on every third Saturday of October.
The activity can be almost anything that involves community improvement projects. It takes the form of activities for the under-privileged and improvement of public facilities or increasing social awareness.
What matters most is that we should participate in social work. Make a commitment to help others and do community work for just one day to begin with.
It is the most encompassing national day of helping others - a celebration of neighbours helping neighbours.
